Alin Yuriko Badillo Carrillo to become Executive Director
Release Date: May 21, 2024
After three years in director-level roles in Voices Jackson Hole, Alin Yuriko Badillo Carrillo, Director of Immigrant Leadership, will become the Executive Director of Voices Jackson Hole on June 20, 2024. Founding Executive Director, Jordan Rich, is leaving the organization for a new role.
“The Voices JH board has been continually impressed with Alin’s skill in developing Voices’ innovative and successful programs. Coupled with her knowledge of and commitment to the immigrant community in the Teton area, Alin is poised to take the Executive Director role,” said Isabel Zumel, Board Chair.
A graduate of Jackson Hole High School, the University of Wyoming and the University of New Mexico, Alin holds dual Masters degrees in Public Health and Latin American Studies. As a member of the Teton community for over 22 years, Alin’s experiences and education influenced the development and growth of Voices JH programs and projects including: Inclusion, ensuring that immigrant communities have influence on community decision making through inclusive research with 18 projects; the Crecimiento project, providing personal development trainings to a growing number of local bilingual and bicultural professionals; and the Latina Empowerment Circle, a pilot project that has since become a program of Community Safety Network.
“We are excited for Voices JH’s new phase of leadership with Alin. We also recognize and celebrate the vision and dedication of founding Executive Director, Jordan Rich,” said Adrian Croke, Board Secretary.
Started during COVID as a grassroots rapid response to close the information and resource gap for limited-English and immigrant individuals, under Jordan’s leadership, Voices JH has become a non profit organization on the leading edge of building social capital with immigrant communities. Today, Voices JH employs 9 Mobilizers and 9 Community Organizers who share pertinent community information through first language peer networks, and capture immigrant community member perspectives on key issues in the Teton area. Through Jordan’s vision, the Voices network has grown to include 24 nationalities, 18 languages, over 600 immigrant households and 1,200 individuals connected with every week.
“I am looking forward to building on the successful groundwork that Jordan and I have put in place,” said Alin Yuriko Badillo Carrillo. “Voices JH is ready to further connectedness, inclusion and empowerment in the Teton region.”
